As Director of the Newport Beach Trauma Therapy Center, Shavvonne Walls is a Doctoral Candidate, Marriage and Family Therapist, Professional Clinical Counselor, and Life Coach. She specializes in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, self-esteem, anxious overachieving, depression, and financial well-being. She is devoted to helping individuals, couples, and families who have suffered traumatic experiences to reach their maximum potential. Her approach combines a bottom-up approach (somatic therapy) with a top-down approach (psychodynamic therapy). She believes that everyone has the ability to make positive changes in their lives and to live the life of their dreams.
Shavvonne has extensive experience working with professionals and individuals struggling with complex and vicarious trauma. Her clinical background ranges from substance abuse centers, the corporate sector, crisis stabilization, and Hoag Hospital. She is a Doctoral Candidate at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and holds two Masters Degrees from California Baptist University. She also boasts certifications from the NeroAffective Relational Model (NARM )Training Institute and EMDRIA, as well as various other qualifications.
When not in the office, Shavvonne enjoys public speaking and regularly facilitates workshops to share her knowledge and understanding of the impact of childhood trauma and how to lead a fulfilling life.
